Consent
No lesson is ever recorded without permission. Here's how we handle it.
This describes Xyova's intended consent approach; the exact instruments and jurisdiction-specific requirements will be finalised with legal counsel before third-party recording begins.
Our principles
- Teacher consent to record the lesson and to be evaluated.
- School consent to record on its premises.
- Separate, explicit consent before a teacher is named publicly, for example in a testimonial covering name, designation and school.
- Incidental student audio is handled with care: students are never named in any report, and spoken names captured in transcripts are scrubbed before a report leaves the platform.
What consent covers
Consent is specific and purpose-bound. Recording a lesson for evaluation does not imply permission to use that recording for marketing, public sharing, or naming any individual. Those require their own, separate consent.
Withdrawing consent
Consent can be withdrawn. Schools and teachers can contact us to stop future recording and to request handling of existing material in line with our privacy policy.
Testimonials
Any testimonial we publish is shared with written consent from the person quoted, covering their name, designation and school.
